I'm learning Russian. It seemed like something I should do. I'd say something, but I can't figure out how to turn the keyboard to the Cyrillic alphabet.

What's new with you?

And after saying I'd never blog... I now have a blog.

It's at http://www.stevenpirie.blogspot.com if anyone wants to heckle me and whatnot.

It also holds the secret as to why I'm learning Po-Ruski

Could be better, actually, Demon. You've already seen my Facebook update about my being sacked from Lloyds last Monday.

As if that wasn't bad enough, I hurt my back the other day, and can now barely walk!

Steven - I wouldn't dream of heckling. I'm learning a new language myself, although thankfully, it's one that I can write without re-configuring my keyboard settings.

I hope things pick up again quickly, Darrell. I hadn't seen any Facebook update so it's news to me. And bad backs as well... you have my sympathies!

So Darrell, are you back in work? And what on earth did you do? I probably don't want to know...

Steven, get that post out young man!!!!!!! smile.gif

Terry, great blog, read further down and I'm sorry to read your situation with your daughters. I remember you putting up some stunning pictures of your weekends together. I truly hope this turns around for you.

And you have a blog too, Steven, brilliant, some great humour in there, especially the gay statue, I laughed too abrokenlaptop. Glad you're enjoying Russian, I did a term of it in Grammar school, very masculine I though I quite enjoyed it.

Lager, the UK could do with a dynamo like you. I feel the entire country is searching for something at the moment... inner peace I suspect.

We are getting used to just having the two little ones at home. Most noticeable since Demon left is how quite the house is.

Maybe I'm going deaf. smile.gif

Sorry for the late reply, Matron, I've only just seen your message.

Yes, I was sacked. I'd rather not go into all the ins and outs of why it happened on a public forum, but the writing had been on the wall for a long time, and I finally got the news on October 12. I'm still reeling from the shock of it all, to be honest, as I never thought it would come to this. But there you go.

No sign of a new job yet, either.

My life is full of ups and downs... The ups are good but the downs are real shitters.

I'm sat here at 1.30 in the morning after leaving work early due to a fresh bout of chest pains and the onset of a new headache... Just waiting for the pills to kick in enough for me to be able to sleep.

On the good side my latest writing project - a screenplay entitled City Of Hell - is finished and seems to have hit the spot. Who'd have thought writing a noir style gangster film could be so much fun.

Save me a place in the dole queue Darrell, I'll be joining you on the first of Feb!

Yes, my company have finally pulled the plug on my section, so bye bye employment, hello redundancy!

Blimey, Steve, sorry to hear that. huh.gif

The same thing seems to be happening to a lot of people lately. A sign of the (bad economic) times?
