Hi.

As these forums are still in their infancy, there will be changes made to it's appearence and set up.

Whilst this will not affect you majorly, you may notice these changes as they will probably not be discrete ones.

We are looking for a better skin than our current one, and we are also seeking out some modifications and other codes to improve the forums.

Please bear with us until things settle down.

Okay then, somebody's had too much sugar....

Update on these changes. We seem to have found a skin we like sooner than we thought we would. Unless we find a considerably better one, this one will be here to stay it seems.

Credit for the skin goes to EvilNoah from EGFX2. You can see he gets a thanks at the very bottom of each page. Thanks to him.

We're still searching for new forum markers and other such enhancements. The changing of the skin was the biggest one, so it seems it will settle down fairly quickly here.

FURTHER CHANGES:

Quite a few actually.

We now have decent forum markers, they are the devils head next to each forum. Though i'm happy with them, i may tinker with the size slightly at a later point.

Myself and Matron now have our usernames coloured red. Just so we stand out more as Admins.

EDIT: THIS IS NOW BECAUSE WE ARE MEMBERS OF HADESGATE! SEE "FORUM GROUP SYSTEM" THREAD FOR MORE INFO.

I've added a code so the fast reply box is always open, it does only take one click to open it anyhow, but we're a lazy race!

It is probable i'll alter more things soon, but as of now i'm ahppy with the forums set up.

FORUM CHANGE:

We now have a Group System.

See the "Forum Group System" thread for detailed information on how it works, and which group you'll fall into.

EDIT: Oh yes, and we now have a lot more smileys. If i see a good one, i'll add it in, so you'll see new smileys all the time. I'm a smiley freak!!! hyper.gif

FORUM UPDATES:

For group system reasons, Matron is now NOT AN ADMIN. There is a new group called Hadesgate which is red. I am the admin so MUST BE PART OF THE ADMIN GROUP, but i am red to say i am Hadesgate also. I hope that's understandable. If your struggling to get it PM me and i'll clarify.

Also, i've altered the banner again. It now sports a catchphrase and a different layout. There is a slight chance this may have to be changed to some other catchphrase, myself and Matron believe it MAY have been used elsewhere. If you know it has tell me please.

I forgot to mention this earlier but the banner was put together by myself, but the actual artwork was done by the extremely talented artist PAUL COX. Hey may be joining these forums soon himself.

UPDATE:

DOMAIN TROUBLE SORTED/ENDED

In regards to the URL, www.hadesgateforums.co.uk, it now works just fine, but it is still not the primary domain, so it cannot be used for links.

I tried to set it as the primary domain which is why it wouldn't work for a while and you had to use the s9.invisionfree address. Both addresses now work.

The www. address is nicer to look at and more proffessional but if you want to link someone you can only get them to the homepage as it is not the primary domain

The s9 address is the backup that WILL ALWAYS WORK! Therefore if you can't get on from the www. address use the s9 one.

The forums look good - it's not easy, I think, to get a result easy on the eye when you pick a dark background, bur here it's done well.

UPDATE:

Email change.

Any email sent from Hadesgate Forums will come from...

Demon@hadesgateforums.co.uk

It was the Hadesgate email address but this has been changed because I deal with the forums at Hadesgate, so demon@hadesgateforums.co.uk is my own personal email address for dealing with forum issues.

Therefore if you want to email someone regarding FORUMS ISSUES, EMAIL ME.

If it's general Hadesgate, like submission of your work etc, email Matron, as she uses the normal Hadesgate address that is hadesgate@hotmail.co.uk

Hope that's all understandnable.

UPDATES:

Some images have been changed. Three new images are in the board statistics, the clown, the birthday wording, and the lightning bolt. I put these in to replace the invisionfree default,s and am very happy with the results, especially the clown!

Also, the forum indication marker has been changed. That's this little
image...

user posted image

It's replacing the blue circle invisionfree default that appears before the list of forums you've entered into.

I am currently a mission to change the button sets for the better, for example the "new reply" and "New thread buttons" will hopefully be changed in due course to have more of a Hadesgate feel.

Feedback on the new images is welceom.

UPDATES:

The Hadesgate Q & A forum is now a sub forum of the Hadesgate News / Announcements forum. This is just to tidy things up a little, and also to make way for some other forums we may well add in the future.

The Problems / Feedback forum has been made a sub-forum of the Hadesgate Forums News / Announcements forum for the same reasons.

UPDATES:

There may be some more forum changes soon.

We will add a Dark Art Forum below the Hadesgate Forums / Announcements forum. This will be for Hadesgate's resident artist Paul Cox, who will be joining us on the forums in due course.

Also i have moved the Introductions forum down to the Lounge category, as we feel it is more suited there.

In an effort to keep things clutter free, i have merged the Music, Films / TV and Literature forums into one. This is becuase the Lounge area is not really supposed to be the main focus, so we feel that too many forums in that area is unneccessery.

Also, when we acquire more members, i am very eager to start an online Hadesgate Newsletter, posted up at regular intervals in a Newsletter Forum, which i will create when it gets to the point where we may start. More on this later, explaining what it's content would include etc.

A suggestion:

I'm a lazy bastard, and I'm looking to buy Soulkeepers, so I need a link (or a Hadesgate Shop Forum full of links) that I can click on that takes me directly to the book on Amazon or wherever you're pushing it from. I looked on Steve's website but there doesn't appear to be an easy way to buy there either.

If there's already such a facility on the site then it's not obvious to me (I'm lazy, and blind wink.gif )

Hi Steve

I think that's an idea for a new forum, I'll pass on to Demon to process.

Watch this space.

Thank you
